We often joke about having to go out of town to be appreciated as an artist or expert in our chosen fields. Today I was thanked many times over.
For what?
For bringing Alyson B. Stanfield and her art marketing workshop to Ocala. Actually it was just for putting the bug in someone's ear; others did all the work.
Alyson exceeded all our expectations, and I kept getting thanked. I can only hope the artists thanked her as much. What a great win/win deal since I really wanted her to come here.
If you notice the title of this post seems a bit different from the others, it's my early efforts at titling in a way that helps people to find appropriate content via search engines.....one of today's tips.
Alyson had us to break into groups to practice introductions and networking. Serendipity! I was able to hook up one artist who was connected with people eager to build an Ocala Art Center with ......another artist who was connected with people eager to fund an Ocala Art Center. A very good day indeed.
Speaking of art centers, it is important to appreciate what we do have.
Kudos to Central Florida Community College for supporting local artists and sponsoring Alyson B. Stanfield's art marketing workshop. CFCC also sponsors the Visual Artists Association and two juried art shows at its beautiful Webber Center facility.
