First off, the weather is brewing a cyclone where we are (not yet were) planning to swim with dolphins in Bimini.
Then, there is so much to do and so much more I want to do before going..... before my painting gets rusty from a week without. And yet, here I sit blogging with you, dear blogging buddies.
My commissions sit aside for my current state of mind...and again for a week on return. It's all part of the process. I allowed time for it.
To share before I go.......
- Portraits -- with all our recent landscape talk, it's easy to forget my portrait life. The Art of the Portrait, Journal of the Portait Society of America issue no. 40 arrived in full glorious color. I love the new format. It's a real magazine now. Plus it has me drooling over the 2009 conference in Washington, D.C. Membership in PSA includes a subscription to International Artists Magazine.
Nancy Moskovitz portraits - Here's a link on my site. I'll be painting a grandson portrait before long...probably in oil like my more recent work. We'll see.
- Blurb.com book - A Painting a Day by Duane Keiser - my copy arrived. I think blurb did a great job. It's worth considering for all artists. Duane has reached a tipping point; he has a following. He will be able to sell his books. Yesterday's oddment of a lady bug sold in a flash.
Excuse me. I have a picture book to get lost in.

Heavens! Hope the waters calm before your vacation with the dolphins. The aftermath could be artistic fodder on the other hand...
Good thing I went without expectations and open to whatever kind of vacation we had. We lived in the moment. Best of all,I do believe the Zen is still with Rick and me both.
