Barred Owl: Friend or Foe

An owl hunted from my front gate for a fortnight before heading to new hunting grounds. I've been jonesing to paint it ever since. We're talking years.

Since I can only find my paper photo, above is a Wikipedia image. Hopefully legal.

Key finding: In U.S., an owl connotes wisdom. Elsewhere, 'tis an omen of death and disaster.

A barred owl is cuter than most. Proof above. Still, it has given me pause.

Would you paint it?

It's for a gallery show which may or may not happen.

I'll figure it out. All part of the process. Maybe switch to pastel for a while. Geeze. Loose ends and I'm not even trying to reinvent myself.
